Polyunsaturated Fat

Polyunsaturated fats can help reduce bad cholesterol levels in your blood, which can lower your risk of heart disease and stroke.

In nutrition, polyunsaturated fatty acids, also called polyunsaturated fats, are fatty acids that contain more than one double bond in their backbone. Polyunsaturated fats are fats in which the constituent hydrocarbon chain possesses two or more carbon–carbon double bonds. Polyunsaturated fat is primarily found in nuts, seeds, fish, seed oils, and oysters.

Polyunsaturated Compounds

Polyunsaturated fats are found mainly in corn, soybean, and sunflower oils. These oils are commonly used in salad dressings, cooking oil, and baking. Nuts and seeds also contain polyunsaturated fats.

In summary, saturated fats are found primarily in animal foods such as meat and dairy. Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats are predominantly found in plant-based foods, such as vegetable oils, nuts and seeds.
