Monounsaturated fat is a type of dietary fat. It is one of the healthy fats, along with polyunsaturated fat.

In nutrition, monounsaturated fatty acids are also called monounsaturated fats, which are fatty acids that have one double bond in the fatty acid chain, with the remaining carbon atoms being saturated single-bonded.

Examples of monounsaturated oils include olive oil, canola oil, and safflower oil. These oils are used in cooking and salad dressings. Canola oil is also used to make margarine. Nuts and seeds are also good sources of monounsaturated fat.
